I was contacted by a number of readers that wanted to inquire about what had happened to their favorite characters that appeared in the Prepper Trilogies. I under took the task of answering this as a thank you to my dedicated readers by beginning a series of Novelette so that the characters could give voice to their own experiences from their differing personal perspectives. These are short little updating features that give my readers the rest o the story that popular demand requested. I myself as an author am fascinated that the story wishes to be continued. This first installment finds our favorite stranded Englishman Stewart, stranded in Atlanta and meeting up with the rescued Melanie after a solar storm has wiped out technology for years to come. The spoiler is they eventually find their way to our also favorite heathen of the dark side of technology failure, the lovable character named Dump Truck. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Duane Sharp. Getting started with the concept of prepping can be a case of information overload. There is so much to think about and so much to do and purchase that people often give up on the idea before they even start. This audiobook is especially for those people, it tells them all about the first item any prepper should have ready - a bug-out bag. It explains what bugging out means and why they should have a bug-out bag with survival kit for 72 hours ready to go. The step-by-step approach means that it is easy to follow, meaning everyone can have a quality bug-out gear prepared for when a disaster strikes. It tells you exactly what is in a bug-out bag and gives you a list of bug-out kit items that you will need. None, of this bug-out gear is expensive, which means that everyone can actually have a bug-out bag ready to go when disaster strikes. The book explains why each and every member of your family needs to have their own bug-out bag and what that bag must contain. When disaster does strike, it is indiscriminate. It will hit everyone. It will be left to you to ensure that you can keep your family alive until help arrives. This book will help you do just that. The book covers essential information such as: The time to bug out Where you bug out to How to choose a bug-out bag Other essential bugging-out kit What items to pack and what to leave behind Water Food Medical Supplies Personal Items Education How to use technology to help How to make use of caches to make your survival easier and more comfortable The audiobook comes complete with a bug-out checklist at the end of each section so you can be ensured that you have all the kit assembled. 1. There will possibly come a day I woefully imagine in the near future when you might find yourself in a darkened world alongside a road. The road might not end, but you can go no further. You will be far from home and find yourself without gas, food, banks, law enforcement, or hospital care because a man-made or natural disaster such as a EMP (electromagnetic pulse) has shut the power grid off nationwide for an indeterminate length of time. You wonder what to do next. Let’s hope this scenario never comes about or ever happens, but if it does you will find that at a light speed pace you have finally reached the proverbial end of the road in the realist sense ever. Doom awaits the ill-informed or ignorant. Society will be collapsing; murder and mayhem rule in the streets and the real survival has just now started at your little formerly peaceful campsite day one. Do you have in that prepared mind of yours all the relevant skills, tools on hand, manuals or references to survive before the food runs out? How about after it runs out, what then? Can you protect your goods today with any degree of certainty from other survivors who are just as hungry and desperate as you are? Do you have the tools that you need to keep you warm and fed through the winter? Do you think that you have the proper survival mindset and prepper bushcraft skills necessary to make it anywhere in the US no matter where your own personal road has led you to so far? Could you, or should I say would you, if you had to walk away from your expensive recreational vehicle with just what you could carry in a knapsack make it more than a month on your own? Do you know how to turn your vehicle or camper into a portable survival retreat before a disaster even strikes to maximize your chances of surviving long term in some degree of comfort? This book covers all of this and so much more! Learn military grade survival skills along with the proper prepper repurposing insights to not only sur... 1. Language: English. National security expert Loch Johnson and Reverend Roy Hawthorne on this edition of Fresh Air. Loch Johnson´s written several books about intelligence and the trade-off of personal freedom, including Bombs, Bugs, Drugs and Thugs: Intelligence and America´s Quest for Security. Johnson is a professor of political science at the University of Georgia. He has served on several US Senate committees on Intelligence. Reverend Roy Hawthorne is one of the original windtalkers. They were a group of Navajo men who developed a secret code for American World War II fighters. The Japanese were able to break every other code the military developed. The Navajo code was the only one never solved by the Japanese and is considered the key tool in winning that war. The code was declassified in 2001, and the code talkers medals of honor from President Bush. The new film Windtalkers is based on the story of the codemakers. John Woo directed the film; Nicolas Cage and Christian Slater star. Hawthorne gives talks about the codemaking process to schoolchildren nationwide. (Broadcast Date: June 12, 2002) 1. Author and musician Mitch Alden wanted to record a new CD. Months after running a personal best at the 2009 New York City Marathon, he decided a new full-length CD would be his next goal. During an early spring run, however, the marathon bug emerged from winter´s grip and took a bite out of him. As he ran, he formed the crazy idea of combining his passions for singing and running into one epic experience: He could record his CD at a friend´s studio in Chicago and race the Chicago Marathon immediately afterward. Though he knew he could accomplish each individually, he wondered if his body would be able to withstand the many high-energy days in the studio only to race 26.2 miles when he was done. Alden shares his thoughts in Musical Miles, a memoir that is equal parts running, music, and life lessons. It covers Alden´s four-month training journey for the 2010 Chicago Marathon, exposes the mind of a passionate and driven independent artist, and attempts to answer the question of why we run. 1.
